WALA Diamond Rewards Program
The WALA Diamond Rewards Program recognizes member breeders who exceed WALA's core health and breeding standards and demonstrate an elevated commitment to the long-term well-being of the Australian Labradoodle breed.
To qualify, members must meet all WALA membership criteria, including required health testing, DNA profiles on every parent dog, and WALA litter registration. Diamond Rewards recognition is awarded at the program level, meaning every proven, active breeding dog within the breeding program must meet the criteria required for the applicable reward level.
The Diamond Rewards Program builds on this strong baseline through advanced health testing, continuing education, and elective Breeder’s Choice options that support ethical and responsible breeding practices. Participating breeders demonstrate ongoing investment in health, education, and proven puppy development practices that support WALA’s mission and the continued advancement and integrity of the Australian Labradoodle (ALD). ​​​​​​​​​
One Diamond Reward
To achieve One Diamond Reward, breeders' proven WALA-registered dogs must all meet the basic WALA membership criteria plus:
EIC and PRA/prcd testing
At least one OFA, CAER, ECVO, or BVA eye exam
One Breeder’s Choice option from the General or Advanced Lists below
Two Diamond Reward
To achieve Two Diamond Reward, breeders' proven WALA-registered dogs must all meet One Diamond requirements, plus:
EIC and PRA/prcd testing (One Diamond requirement)
At least one OFA, CAER, ECVO, or BVA eye exam (One Diamond requirement)
Breeder participation in least 12 hours of professional development each year
Two Breeder’s Choice options from the General or Advanced Lists below
Three Diamond Reward
To achieve Three Diamond Reward, breeders' proven WALA-registered dogs must all meet One Diamond and Two Diamond requirements, plus two additional ADVANCED Breeder's Choice options:
EIC and PRA/prcd testing (One Diamond requirement)
At least one OFA, CAER, ECVO, or BVA eye exam (One Diamond requirement)
Breeder participation in at least 12 hours of professional development each year (Two Diamond requirement)
Two Breeder’s Choice options from the General or Advanced Lists below (Two Diamond requirement)
Two Breeder’s Choice options from the Advanced List below
WALA's Diamond Rewards Program replaced the former Star Rewards Program.
Only current, valid WALA Membership and Rewards badges may be displayed on member websites.
Expired Star Rewards badges are no longer valid and must be removed.
Previously earned, valid Star Rewards badges may remain displayed through 30 April 2026.​​​​​​​

Diamond Rewards Program Breeder's Choice Options
The following are GENERAL Breeder's Choice options to meet the requirements:
Hip Evaluation over 12 months of age
Elbow Evaluation over 12 months of age
Patellar Evaluation over 4 months of age
Extended Genetics Disease Panel
OFA, CAER, ECVO, or BVA eye exam every 18 months
Cardiac Evaluation over 4 months of age
Breeder participation in at least 12 hours of professional development each year
Temperament testing of every litter with an independent evaluator
Uses a professional method of puppy-raising
Five or more years experience breeding ALDs or LDs
Breeder's program has produced at least 5 working therapy or service dogs
The following are ADVANCED Breeder's Choice options to meet the requirements:
Final Hip Evaluation
Final Elbow Evaluation
Final Patellar Luxation Evaluation
Actively mentoring a new breeder
Volunteer for WALA at least 12 hours each year
Breeder participation in at least 24 hours of professional development each year
WALA breeders in good standing will display the above WALA badge on their website and advertising materials. Each badge includes member number, program name, and membership expiration date.
